John Hensley named Nevada City’s 2011 Business Person of the Year
At the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce’s 110th annual Installation Ceremony and Community Awards Dinner, our own John Hensley was named 2011 Business Person of the Year.
Nevada City Rotary President Carolyn Inglis presented the award and acknowledged John’s many contributions to our community over the last 35 years as a realtor and community leader. Carolyn noted this is a lifetime achievement award for John. “We try to recognize an individual who has contributed to the betterment of our community in their personal and professional lives. I am thrilled John was chosen. He does so much for our community.”
In an interview with The Union staff reporter after the business award John was quoted. “It feels like perseverance has paid off. It’s a very emotional feeling for me. None of us strive for recognition, but it certainly feels good when we get it.”
He has also been an active member of the Nevada City Rotary since 1975 and is a former Club President. John is also a board member of KVMR 89.5 FM/105.1 AM Radio. He is active on the committee overseeing the station’s new facility in partnership with the Nevada City Theatre.
We are proud to congratulate John for this recognition!
